Specialized Operations
Skilled trades, office handling and library work — the long tail of real-world tasks.
Overview
Not every useful task fits a big industry bucket. This dataset collects specialized operations: installation and assembly work from the trades, fine-motor desk work in offices, and paperwork and book handling in libraries.
Trade sessions are captured on Meta smart glasses, giving an eye-level portrait view (1376 × 1824, about 30 fps) with hands, tools and fixtures in frame. Office and library sessions are captured on GoPro HERO13 cameras at 1080p and 59.94 fps with embedded IMU.
Sessions are long and continuous: the published library sample runs 19 minutes 6 seconds and the paper-clip sample 15 minutes without cuts. Tool use and deformable-object scenarios (installation, pipe assembly, cable coiling) are priced as complex; the rest are standard.
Environments
- Residential fit-out sites and workshops
- Offices and shared work areas
- Library and study desks
Built for
- Tool-use and multi-step procedure learning
- Deformable linear object (cable) manipulation
- Handwriting, paper and book handling
- Very long continuous egocentric sessions for world models
Scenarios
PreviewWall Thermostat Installation
Mounting a thermostat base plate on a wall, connecting it and fitting the cover.
PreviewManual Metal Pipe Assembly
Fitting and joining metal pipe sections by hand with work gloves on.
PreviewCable Coiling and Organization
Untangling, coiling and bundling power and data cables at a desk.
PreviewPaper Clip Linking and Arrangement
Picking paper clips from a box and linking them into chains on a desk.
PreviewMoving Packaging Materials in a Shared Area
Carrying foam inserts and boxes between counters and storage in a shared office area.
PreviewLibrary Lending Form and Book Organization
Filling in a lending form by hand, then sorting and stacking books on the desk.

FAQ
Why is some of this footage portrait?
Trade sessions are captured on smart glasses, which record in portrait. The taller frame keeps hands, tools and the work surface in view at eye level.
Which scenario is best for deformable-object research?
Cable Coiling and Organization. Cables are deformable linear objects and every session contains dozens of untangle–coil–bundle cycles.
Are screens, documents or people identifiable in the footage?
Delivered data is screened and de-identified according to the privacy terms in your licence. Tell us in the quote if you need screens or text blurred.
