Supplier Terms
The terms for listing data or offering collection through DataClue. Version 2026-11-05.
In short
- Samples first. We list only data we have seen. Send sample clips and we review them before anything goes live.
- Anonymous listing. Your company name is never shown. Buyers see the country, specs, samples and hours, not who you are.
- We handle the buyer. DataClue signs the licence with the buyer, invoices them and collects payment.
- 25% commission. On every sale or custom collection DataClue brings, we keep 25% and pay you 75%.
- Non-exclusive. You keep ownership and may sell your data anywhere else.
1. Listing
You give DataClue a non-exclusive right to list your data, describe it and show sample clips on dataclue.app, in search results, and to prospective buyers. We may trim, re-encode or de-identify (blur faces, remove audio) samples before publishing them. We decide what to list and may remove a listing at any time, for example if samples and delivered data don't match.
We show only the country where data was recorded, never your company name, people or exact locations. We don't tell buyers who supplied the data unless you agree in writing.
2. Sales
We agree a price with you in writing (email is fine) for each dataset before it is listed. When a buyer licenses your data, you license it to DataClue so that DataClue can sublicense it to that buyer, on the buyer's licence terms and for the agreed scope only. DataClue is the contracting party for the buyer and issues the invoice.
You deliver the licensed data to DataClue (or to the buyer, if we ask) in the agreed format and within the agreed time. Delivered data must match the samples and specs on the listing.
3. Custom collection
If you offer collection, we may send you projects from buyers. Scope, price, timeline and quality criteria are agreed per project before work starts. The same 25% commission applies to every project DataClue brings.
4. Commission and payment
- DataClue keeps 25% of the amount the buyer pays, excluding taxes. You receive 75%.
- We pay you within 15 business days of receiving the buyer's payment, by bank transfer.
- If a buyer is refunded because delivered data doesn't match the listing, your share of that refund is deducted.
- Each payment comes with a statement showing the order reference, hours and amounts.
5. Buyers we introduce
Buyers who reach you through DataClue are DataClue's customers. For 24 months after we introduce a buyer, you agree not to sell to them or collect for them directly, or through another party, without DataClue. If you do, the 25%commission is still owed on that business. Buyers you already worked with before we introduced them are not covered; tell us when this applies.
6. Your promises
You confirm that, for all data you list or collect through DataClue:
- Everyone recorded gave informed consent to recording and to commercial licensing for AI training, and you keep records of that consent that we can review.
- It complies with the data protection law where it was recorded, for example the GDPR (EU), LGPD (Brazil), PIPL (China), APPI (Japan), PDPA (Malaysia), the Personal Data Protection Law (Vietnam), the Law on Personal Data Protection (Georgia), KVKK (Türkiye), Law 09-08 (Morocco) and the DPDP Act (India).
- You own the data or have the right to license it, and it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.
- It contains no minors unless agreed in writing with documented guardian consent.
You are responsible for claims that arise because one of these promises is untrue, and you will cover DataClue's resulting costs.
7. Confidentiality
Buyer names, prices and project details we share with you are confidential, and so are your details and pricing on our side.
8. Ending
Either side can stop at any time by email with 30 days' notice. We then remove your listings. Licences already sold, payments owed and sections 5 to 7 continue after that.
9. How these terms are accepted
You accept these terms by ticking the box when you submit your data, or by replying “I agree” to an email from DataClue that links to them. We record the version and date. For large projects we may sign a separate agreement, which then takes priority.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA. If we change them, we'll email you and the new version applies to sales made after that.
